BMF Partner Shares Expertise with National and Statewide Audience
BMF Partner Jim Merklin, a nationally recognized expert in employee benefit plans for the accounting and audit industry, will be on the road again next week for the second time this spring.
On May 11-13, Jim will participate in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AIPCA) National Conference on Employee Benefit Plans in Las Vegas. He will take part on the Ask the Experts panel as well as present on “Fraud in Benefit Plans” and “Audit and Accounting for Investments.” Conference organizers are expecting 1,500 attendees at the event.
This conference brings together experts from private practice, the Department of Labor, Treasury and the IRS to provide in-depth, comprehensive updates on the wide range of issues affecting employee benefit plans today, including recent changes in accounting, auditing, and tax and enforcement regulations.
This will be Merklin’s second appearance this year in front of a national audience. In December, he spoke to the AICPA in Washington D.C.
Other Engagements
Merklin is also scheduled to speak at the PKF North America (NA) Employee Benefit Plans Conference in Chicago on June 10-11 and again for the PKF NA Annual Partners’ Conference on July 19-21 in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.
And he recently participated in the Ohio Society of CPAs’ Employee Benefit Plan Audit Conference on April 19 in Columbus, Ohio, where he sat on the Ask the Experts panel, as well as presented “Efficiencies and Deficiencies in EBP Audits” and “Audit and Accounting Update.”
