Four BMF Professionals Earn Credentials in Financial Forensics

Akron, OH (Dec. 4, 2008) – The regional accounting firm of Bober Markey Fedorovich (BMF) announced that four of its professional staff have earned credentials as “Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF),” a CPA specialty created by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) established this year for those who carry particular expertise in forensic accounting.

The four professionals include Mark B. Bober, CPA, partner and practice leader of the firm’s Transaction Advisory Services Group who also carries certifications as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV); James E. Merklin, CPA, partner in the firm’s Assurance & Advisory practice who also holds additional credentials as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE); Marcy A. Venarge, CPA, manager, Transaction Advisory Services Group who holds the CVA certification as well; and Steve Swann, CPA, manager, Transaction Advisory Services Group, who also carries the CFE designation.

The CFF credential is awarded to those professionals who offer significant business experience in specialized areas such as bankruptcy and insolvency, computer forensics, litigation support, valuations, family law and fraud investigations.   Successful candidates must apply for the certification, meet a 100-point requirement list and complete at least 75 hours of financial forensic education and training.
