Mark Bober specializes in a variety of industries including
manufacturing, distribution, professional practices, energy, and
construction. He also serves as the Firm’s Director of Financial Advisory
Services, which includes business valuation, litigation support, forensic
accounting, and transaction support services. Mark maintains extensive
expertise in performing M&A transaction support services on behalf of
equity sponsors and subordinated debt lenders.
Mark is highly knowledgeable in dealing with the accounting & auditing,
tax and financial challenges facing S Corporations, C Corporations, LLCs,
and Partnerships. He also maintains extensive expertise in the area of
ESOPs, including performing feasibility studies, repurchase liability
studies, ESOP valuations, and accounting & auditing services for such
entities.
Mark has performed a variety of special projects for his clients
including internal control reviews, cash flow studies, financing
assistance, acquisition due diligence, estate planning, buy-sell and cross
purchase agreements, strategic and tax planning, cost accounting studies,
profitability analyses, compensation studies, projections and forecasts,
as well as development of business plans.
A 1983 graduate of Miami University, Mark was with Price Waterhouse
from 1983 - 1992. He is a CPA, is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV),
is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), and has received the AICPA
Business Valuation Certificate of Educational Achievement. He is also a
member of the Institute of Business Appraisers, the National Association
of Certified Valuation Analysts, and the American Society of Appraisers.
Mark is past Chairman of the Valuation / Litigation Support Committee
of the Ohio Society of CPA’s local chapter, National Chairman of PKF
International Corporate Finance Task Force and Vice Chairman of its Legal
Services / Business Valuation Committee, past Co-Chairman of United Way’s
Young Leadership Division, Past President of The Volunteer Center, a
member of Leadership Akron’s 1994/95 Class, a Board member of the Akron
Community Foundation, Board Member of the Hospice Center, President of the
Board of Trustees of the Jewish Community Center of Akron, Vice President
of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Community Board of Akron, a member
of the Board of Trustees of Community Improvement Corporation.
Mark is a frequent speaker on business valuation issues, including
speaking engagements at the Ohio Employee Ownership Conference, Miami
University Guest Lecturer, the University of Akron MBA Program Guest
Lecturer, The Cleveland Bar Association, and the Northeast Ohio Employee
Ownership Center. He has also authored a number of articles on this and
other topics, which have appeared in Crain’s Cleveland Business, the
Cleveland Plain Dealer, and Small Business News.
