On April 19, Rick Fedorovich was extensively quoted in The Akron Beacon Journal in an article addressing the bankruptcies in the automotive industry.
Danielle Kimmell was awarded the Young Philanthropist Award at the annual meeting of the United Way of Summit County. At the same meeting, Dale Ruther was awarded the Community Builder Award and Bober Markey Fedorovich was awarded the Chairman’s Award for outstanding, sustained, annual campaign results.
On April 30, Jim Merklin was a featured speaker at the Ohio Society of CPA’s Employee Benefit Plan Audit Conference in Columbus, speaking both on “Investment Valuation Issues” and on their “Ask the Experts” panel. On May 20, Jim was elected secretary of the Board of Directors of NEOUCOM Foundation. Concurrently, he was featured by the PKF North American Network as their “Famous Person of the Week” for his national leadership in the field of employee benefit plan audits.
Mark Bober was installed on June 3 as president of the Jewish Community Board of Akron.

- Bill Westfall joined the firm as a staff accountant in the Assurance & Accounting Department. Bill is a recent graduate of Miami University and had previous work experience including an internship with Bober Markey Fedorovich.
- Mark Novak joined the firm as a senior accountant in the Assurance & Accounting Department. Mark is a 2006 Masters graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College, and previously worked for a national CPA firm. Mark has significant experience in working on complex SEC accounting issues.
