About Our Staff

In order to support the continued growth in our practice, the Partners of Bober Markey Fedorovich are pleased to announce the following additions to our professional staff: 

  • Sharon Iafelice joined as director of Human Resources. She is an alumnus of The University of Akron.
  • Matthew Lawrence joined as staff accountant in the Assurance & Advisory Department. He is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University.

The American Institute of CPAs has approved as Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) Mark Bober, Jim Merklin, Marcy Venarge and Steve Swann. This credential recognizes their expertise in this highly complex field.

Danielle Kimmell presented “Risk Assessment Standards – One Year Later” to the Akron/Canton Chapter of the Ohio Society of CPAs on October 22, 2008.

Members of the BMF Employee Benefit Plans Team (Jim Merklin, Julianne Buynak, Cindy Mitchell, Danielle Kimmell and Andrea Gauding) presented “Some of the More Colorful Aspects to Managing Your Employee Benefit Plans” to clients and friends on November 11, 2008.

On December 3, 2008, Jim Merklin was the featured speaker and moderator on a nationwide webinar for PKF North American Network entitled “Aftermath of Implementation of Risk Assessment Standards for EBP Audits.” Jim was also appointed to a third consecutive term on the Executive Committee for the AICPA’s Employee Benefit Plans Audit Quality Center.

Lori Sheets has been appointed to the Green YMCA Advisory Board and also the United Way Community Investment Cabinet.

Michelle DeGordon has been elected treasurer of Habitat for Humanity of Summit County.

On December 16, 2008, Mark Bober presented and moderated a panel discussion “State of the Capital Markets” on a nationwide webinar for PKF North American Network.

David Wehrle has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Ohio Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association.

PKF North American Network has made the following appointments:

  • Rick Fedorovich to vice-chair, Strategic Planning Committee
  • Mark Bober to chair, Corporate Finance Committee and vice-chair, Business Valuations Committee
  • Jim Bowen to member, Public Companies Task Force
  • Cindy Johnson to chair, Women Into Leadership Task Force; member, Manu/Dist Committee
  • Dale Ruther has been reappointed as a member of the Board of Directors of ProfitCrew™.
